A jab we don’t need

A jab we don’t need

While the government is focussed on saving lives through jabs, a group of politicians want to give the sick and vulnerable a lethal jab.

Nationals, Labor, Greens, Shooters, Fishers and Farmers and Animal Justice MPs behind the bill have their priorities wrong.

The Government’s Covid response is all about encouraging people to have jabs aimed at saving the lives of vulnerable people but these politicians want to give vulnerable people a lethal jab.

Euthanasia always sends a powerful cultural message to the vulnerable that their lives are not worth living and that they should ‘choose’ not to be a burden.

Euthanasia allows politicians to squib providing proper end of life health care so people can die with dignity without the pressure of taking euthanasia.

The CDP expects Premier Gladys Berejiklian to keep her promise not to allow euthanasia to be debated in this term of parliament following the divisive abortion-to-birth laws passed in 2019.

Like all advocates of euthanasia laws, I note that Mr Greenwich has launched his bill claiming it will have strict parameters applying only to the terminally ill.

But how does he intend to stop the slippage seen in other jurisdictions where even the mentally ill, as proposed in Queensland, are also offered euthanasia?
