ANU's tale of two centres: Yes to Islamic, No to the West

The Australian National University yesterday rejected a centre for the study of Western civilisation despite having a study centre for Arab and Islamic civilisation.

Most Australians would be bewildered by this.

The apparent hostility towards our Western cultural heritage by universities while at the same time embracing the study of Arab and Islamic culture makes no sense.

The Judeo-Christian ethos along with Greek thinking has been the foundation on which the West has built the most free and prosperous nations on the planet.

People from every alternative culture and religion want to come to Australia because of this and yet our universities don’t seem to have an appetite to teach students the principles of this success so it can be sustained for future generations.
