Lyle Shelton named Australian Conservatives lead senate candidate in Queensland
Australian Conservatives Leader Senator Cory Bernardi today announced that Lyle Shelton will lead the party’s Queensland Senate ticket.
“The people of Queensland now have a clear, principled, conservative alternative,” Senator Bernardi said. “Lyle brings a wealth of political and campaign experience having headed up the ‘No’ campaign last year that saw millions of Australians stand up against political correctness.”
Mr Shelton said he hoped to offer Queenslanders a true, conservative alternative at the next election. “Australia’s political system is broken,” Mr Shelton said. “Canberra is working very well for the politicians, it isn’t working very well for the people of Gladstone, Toowoomba or Rockhampton.
“Bill Shorten and Malcolm Turnbull are the epitome of what is wrong with our system.
“Both are captive to political correctness and big government thinking which is holding our nation back.
“Like it or not, one of these slaves to elite agendas will be prime minister after the next elec-tion. The real question is, who will be keeping an eye on them.
“Queensland families need someone who will be keeping an eye out for them in Canberra. Someone not afraid to say ‘no’ to political correctness, gender ideology and social Marxism.
“Taking on the major parties and the Greens will not be easy, but I know that by working together, conservatives across our state can put a handbrake on the extreme elite ideologies that have infected Canberra.”
Lyle Shelton will be joined on the Queensland senate ticket by former LNP senator Jo Lindgren and North Queensland bookkeeper and mother of four Kate Horan.
